Stein Arne is our CEO at Kyst Akademiet .

He is a social scientist with experience in coastal observations and analysis. In addition to his scientific outputs, he has more than fifteen year’s experience working at the science-policy interface, at local, regional, national and for the past two years also Internationally. He is also our expert in Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) and Climate Adaptation.

He has an extensive experience from research in marine resource management with several scientific contributions. In addition to scientific articles, He has more than 15 years of experience in consulting in the pendulum between science and policy in the marine area at local, regional and national level. Furthermore research and politics, he also has practical experience from industries on the coast, including aquaculture, petroleum, tourism and fishing. The latter is perhaps not so surprising for someone who was born into a fishing family and raised in a small coastal community on the Nordland coast.

Mayank Joshi

Mayank is our trainee at Kyst akademiet.

He is a certified (COA) Indian international architect with a degree of architecture, furthermore he is currently a masters student of MS in Urban planning for Transition (Planning for Climate change) at IUAV university of Venice, Italy. He is our digital solutions expert with good command in various architectural and geospatial softwares.

We are proud to have been a part of the Kystplan Troms collaboration, which has successfully revised and adopted new coastal zone plans in all coastal municipalities in Troms, Norway. This achievement marks a significant milestone in inter-municipal planning and demonstrates our commitment to sustainable development.

In order to achieve comprehensive and sustainable management of the aquaculture industry, the state sector authorities meet regularly. In 2018 they gathered again to share experiences and challenges.

During the meeting, the county council, through project manager Stein Arne Rånes, gave a briefing on the inter-municipal coastal zone planning project "Coastal plan Troms", which has led to revised coastal zone plans in all the coastal municipalities throughout Troms.

Our CEO, Stein arne Rånes further informed about the current model (available at stroms.no), which has been developed in collaboration with Akvaplan-Niva and about the county council's plans to continue the work in the Coastal Plan Troms and develop even better management tools and knowledge about the coastal zone in Troms in line with the county council's Aquaculture Strategy.The various sector authorities informed about the status within their various areas of responsibility, including salmon lice and marine conservation plan processes.
